A letter from our Director

After 21 years of faithful service in the United States Marine Corps, I sensed a clear calling from God to step into a more direct role in advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ. At the time, I did not fully understand how that calling would unfold—but God, in His perfect timing, opened the door through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Now, after six years of serving in full-time ministry, I can confidently say that His plan far exceeded anything I could have imagined.

Throughout my life, I have found purpose in embracing challenges and pushing beyond obstacles that many are unwilling to face. That drive once fueled my passion on the field, on the wrestling mat, and in military service. Over the past six years, God has refined that same drive for a greater purpose—one that goes far beyond wins, losses, or recognition. He has shown me that true victory is not measured by lights on a scoreboard, but by lives transformed and the eternal impact of growing His Kingdom, especially in the next generation.

As 1 Timothy 4:8 (NIV) reminds us, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” This truth has become foundational to my ministry. Since transitioning out of the Marine Corps, it has been an incredible privilege to serve and lead alongside dedicated staff, coaches, and volunteers as the Area Director for FCA in Southeast North Carolina.

Southeast North Carolina is home to some of the most diverse and vibrant communities in the country—from beautiful coastal towns to deeply rooted rural farmlands. Our five-county area serves more than 650,000 people and continues to grow daily. God has uniquely positioned FCA to make a lasting Kingdom impact through an estimated 500 coaches and over 6,000 athletes across 43 middle school, high school, and collegiate campuses. Beyond school athletics, there are countless opportunities to reach individuals of all ages through recreational leagues, travel teams, church leagues, YMCA programs, and club sports. Southeast NC FCA proudly serves Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Pender, and New Hanover counties, including the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Brunswick Community College.

As part of the FCA Carolina Region, we are also blessed to participate in an international partnership with Israel—connecting with more coaches and athletes in regions where the name of Jesus is often unknown or even unwelcome. This global reach powerfully reflects the FCA vision: “To see the world impacted by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.”

There has never been a more exciting time to be part of what God is doing through FCA. The mission is eternal, the impact is life-changing, and the rewards are truly priceless.

Join our team today—and be part of something that lasts forever.
