A letter from our Director
After 21 years of faithful service in the United States Marine Corps, I felt a calling upon my life to step out into a more direct role in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. At the time I did not know how I was going to do this until God opened the doors within Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). My entire life I have found purpose in accepting challenges and overcoming obstacles most are not willing to try. This drive is not only on the field or wrestling mat, but also to succeed in life. However, God has revealed that winning is more than lights on a scoreboard. Winning is being able to grow God’s kingdom and impact our future generation. 1 Timothy 4:8 (NIV) says, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” Since transitioning out of the Marine Corps, I am grateful for the privilege of serving our dedicated staff in the Southeast region of North Carolina as the Area Director.
Southeast NC is home to some of the best communities in the world. From beachfront properties to rural farmlands, we have it all. Our five counties are home to more than 650,000 people and growing daily! The Lord has positioned FCA to make an impact for His Kingdom through the estimated 500 coaches and 6,000 athletes on 43 collegiate, high school, and middle school campuses. There are countless more opportunities to reach individuals of all ages competing on recreational leagues, travel leagues, church leagues, YMCA, and club teams across our areas. Southeast NC FCA covers Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Pender, New Hanover counties as well as University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
As a part of FCA in the Carolina region, we also have an international partnership with South Asia including the Middle East connecting us with millions of coaches and athletes in parts of the world where the name of Jesus is often either unknown or unwelcome. This is a wonderful time to participate in fulfilling the FCA vision, "to see the world impacted by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.”
